This is a small, personal project for polishing podcast episodes. Here is the plain truth about what it does with what you give it — no boilerplate, no surprises.
What we keep
Only what the product needs:
- Your account — the email address you sign up with, your name if you add one, and an encrypted password.
- Your feeds and episodes — feed URLs, episode metadata, and the immutable original audio you import.
- Work products — transcripts, ad-interval proposals, your review decisions, and the cleaned render when you ask for one.
- Billing records — subscription status handled by Stripe (we don’t store your full card number).
Where it lives
Audio files are stored on DigitalOcean Spaces, on servers in London (bucket for ListenClean media). Your account details, feed metadata, transcripts, and review state live in the app’s own database. Nothing is stored on your device beyond what your browser needs to play audio.
Who else sees it
A few services help do the work that makes the product possible:
- OpenAI receives episode audio to produce a transcript, and receives transcript text to propose conservative ad/promo intervals for your review.
- Stripe processes payments when you subscribe.
They process this on our behalf so the feature can exist. We don’t sell access to your listening library. The original audio stays under our control on Spaces; renders are replaceable outputs you asked for.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data, to anyone, ever.
- We don’t use your episode audio or transcripts to train our own models.
- We don’t run advertising trackers on these pages.
We email you only about your account — confirming sign-up, resetting a password, billing notices, and the like. No newsletters you didn’t ask for.
Deleting your data
You’re in control. Delete an episode or feed and its related audio and work products are removed with it. Close your account and the same is true of everything tied to it. Deletion is real deletion — not a flag that hides the data while we keep it.
Getting in touch
This is a personal project, not a faceless company. If anything here worries you, write to support@listenclean.com and a real person will answer.
